Well, my room is getting tidier by the minute. I've decided to go in sections. Like I did my desk, and then my drawers yesterday, and today I did the other corner of my room, which was quite dusty since I hadn't cleaned there for about six months. Actually, come to think of it, it wasn't that dusty. I mean, six months. That's a pretty long time. Not much dust then.
While I'm writing this there's this ad adverstising - as ads do - something called The Gabriel Method. It's making me lol, just because of that. The Gabriel Method. Heh.
Anywho. Enough with the random. I've downloaded the latest episode of Heroes, and am downloading the latest episode of House. I should probably nickname Tuesday the Night of the H.
I feel like watching The Wrath of Khan. I've felt this way most of today, I think. I'll watch it after Heroes and House (and dinner, which I really should get to). Then maybe I'll read chapter 3 of Pandora Hearts, because I know Amy will not let up on this (not that I mind, sometimes I need a little push, you know?) and anyway I haven't read it in awhile.
Yes, my life - without uni and other people there to counteract it - is basically television, television, television. I promise I will read a book over the summer. God, I really do need to read a book when I get home, I haven't read one in ages. Any suggestions? Doesn't have to be a recent one, maybe one of your favourites (and we all like talking about our favourite things, at least I know I do).
My sister bought Juno and Wall-E but Juno is the most important because she has watched it multiple times already. She has made me promise that I will watch it with her when I get home (FIVE DAYS, IF YOU COUNT TODAY!!). Also she was making Anzac biscuits today and burnt her finger. Poor thing.
AAHHH, I'M HALF WANTING TO GO HOME AND HALF NOT. GRRAAHHH.
*cough* So....*twiddles thumbs*
I should probably go down to dinner. I need to do the laundry tomorrow (I was going to do it today but got distracted).

The Office, 6x08, "Double Date"
Here are lots of thoughts, in no particular order. After having my heart stopped in my chest over Numb3rs, and realizing that this is the only show whose cancellation would hurt more, I'm feeling so grateful about the fact that Jim and Pam still exist for the forseeable future that I hardly have any room in my heart for hate towards the other characters.
( I may or may not forget that benevolence by the time I finish writing this. )
--This review has been brought to you by Rainbow "Clearly Not Doing A Damn Lick of Work Today" Stevie.
Oh! Another thing I keep meaning to mention - the news that David Tennant's set to star in a series on NBC (Rex Is Not Your Lawyer). No, like American, broadcast network TV. A channel I get. In primetime. With lovely FCC standards in place. The medium with the potential for lots of episodes, assuming it is not a massive flop, which frankly it has all the trappings to be, but still. Starring David Tennant! IS THIS REAL, BECAUSE IT SEEMS SORT OF HARD TO BELIEVE. I assure you, this news got me over my maudlin "Doctor Who has become a trainwreck" depression right quick.
Even the idea that he might end up with an American accent only threw me for about five seconds, because I went straight from disappointment to OH BUT WAIT, this would coincide nicely with the fact that I've mentally cast him for one of the more important roles in my Great Big Complex Fictional Universe, for a character who is supposed to be American, but for whom I could never quite picture having anything less than the Doctor's accent. So basically: no matter what voice he winds up with, it's a winning situation. *pleased*

I could not find time to get on LJ last week to save my life, which is quite wrong, so this week I am making up for it. Starting with all of the following topics, which I am determined to cover, regardless of tardiness.
~Flist, screw mood themes. From now on, I want you to post stick figures like this in order to indicate days when you are experiencing a particularly intense emotion.
~Lilith Fair is coming back next year?! OMG WHAT, WHAT. I was only just starting to fall in love with contemporary female singers when it ended, and I always thought it sounded like the coolest concert ever, tailor-made to everything I enjoy about music. I have spent a decade in mourning for the fact that it was over practically before I knew it existed. NOW IT IS BACK. I am still not in a position to attend, but if it could sustain itself for a few more years? Distinct possibility/ultimate life goal.
~So Trauma got canceled and Mercy got a full-season pickup. Perfect! I like to think that I am subtly influencing NBC with my mind. Even when they cancel shows, my mindpower convinces other networks to rescue them. Example B, TNT picked up Southland, and while they have only committed to the 13 episodes already produced, I'm still holding out hope for more. ( Also, I have a v. important question about cable. )
~Dude, Ghost Whisperer is scary. What is this! It's like they concocted season 5 specifically to fill a void I didn't even know I had after Harper's Island ended. ( sorta )
NCIS, 7x06, "Outlaws and In-Laws"
YOU ARE STILL IN THE DOGHOUSE, SHOW.
( However, I shall briefly touch on a few points, because this one was good. Damn it. )
( *stuffs Survivor in here too* )

It's been a long time since I've done casting and after watching Beauty & the Beast and picspamming about it, I really wanted to watch all the other films including ones that I'd forgotten all about (Hercules, The Lion King) and the ones that I've never seen (Pocahontas, Hunchback of Notre Dame) and then in my boredom I started wondering who should play who in the live action version of these films... HERE @
A small but virulent campaign is forming in support of Numb3rs (see also:
saven3central), so I've already sent in the online feedback form, signed the petition (hey look, 1100+ names already) and tomorrow I'm mailing my letter by post, complete with a few enclosed cut-out numbers as suggested. Do I think it will make a difference? Not really, but it's cheaper & less obnoxious than sending in objects, and it never hurts to practice writing concise, firm-but-polite letters in support of things you believe in. I AM NOT GOING DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT.
Should the worst happen anyway, I've also been assured that TPTB have enough heads-up to write 6x16 in a way that will wrap loose ends and serve as a possible series conclusion, which worked well enough for Without a Trace, and hopefully will work better here, since these writers tend to treat relationships well. I feel...cautiously optimistic. Not that I forfeit the right to bitch at length about being shortchanged, because I will continue to do that for some time unless and until we get a green light for season 7, but it's better than no conclusion at all.
And to top this post off, have two weeks' worth of tv commentary on the show. With lots of multimedia included to make things interesting, because now more than ever I feel weirdly in love with every episode. *CLINGS*
